Gozo is a small island with a lot going on. The businesses here — accommodation, food, experiences, services — are amazing. What they’re usually short on is time: the kind it takes to maintain a social media presence that actually does something.
Lilac Social grew out of two things: a genuine gap in the market, and a decision to build a working life around a place we love. There are talented people running good businesses on this island who simply don’t have the time or the tools to show the world what they do.
We do.
We came to this with a background in global communications — public relations for technology clients at Porter Novelli, social media strategy and community management at MOFILM (where we helped global brands including Chevrolet, Diageo and Bacardi produce crowdsourced content), and senior roles in social strategy, analytics and content at organisations including The National Lottery. The through-line across all of it: understanding what audiences actually respond to, and why.
That experience is what we bring to you, whatever the size of your business.
We also run Scene on Gozo, a platform dedicated to sharing the beauty of Gozo through the magic of the screen. We recently released a guidebook about Gozo’s top filming locations; Gozo in a Day: Film & TV Locations Guide, which is available on Amazon and as a PDF.
Both projects come from the same place as Lilac Social: a belief that Gozo deserves to be properly seen.
